What's the future for Area C?

Draft Sproat Lake and Area OCP Feedback

The Sproat Lake and Area Official Community Plan (OCP) Draft is ready for your feedback! The current Sproat Lake OCP was adopted in June 2014, which makes it outdated. Updating the OCP is important to ensure its vision and goals remain aligned with current community priorities and future direction.

Since Summer 2024, the OCP project team has been engaging with community members, First Nations, local community groups, neighbouring local governments, organizations, and the province to ensure the Plan is meeting as many needs as possible.

The ACRD has engaged with Sproat Lake and Area community members in several ways, including open houses, surveys, a community barbeque, pop-up events, and local meetings. Community feedback has been gathered and compiled to create the Draft Sproat Lake and Area OCP!

The Draft Sproat Lake and Area OCP outlines the long-term vision for the community and guides future decision-making on development. Read the draft and see how your voices helped to shape the Plan! Your feedback will help us ensure we have the right policies, land-use designations, environmental protections, and much more!
