Alberni Valley Housing Needs Reports

On April 16, 2019 legislative requirements took effect that municipalities and regional districts in BC are required to complete Housing Needs Reports (HNRs) by April 2022 and every five years thereafter. These reports will help local and BC governments better understand and respond to housing needs in communities throughout BC. Provincial information on HNRs is available here.

The Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District (ACRD) is working with a consultant (RFT Planning & GIS) to develop HNRs for the four Alberni Valley Electoral Areas (EAs) (Beaufort, Sproat Lake, Beaver Creek, and Cherry Creek).

The housing needs assessment currently being completed in the Alberni Valley will inform the HNRs, and is looking at local demographics, economics, housing stock, and other factors around housing needs. The community input received will inform future ACRD housing policies.

The Alberni Valley EA HNRs are currently being drafted and anticipated to be completed in September 2021. Let us know if you have any comments or questions.
